About Big Daddy - Hosta Roots

Hosta

Seed Type Root
Also known as Plantain Lily

You will love this powerhouse perennial! Our fall-planted Big Daddy hosta is one of our biggest and toughest varieties—it grows up to 28 inches tall and 28 inches wide. It's basically maintenance-free AND slug resistant! He's handsome, too: the leaves of the Big Daddy hosta are icy blue cups with really interesting quilting. In July, get ready for beautiful lavender-white blooms. These guys are happy in containers and, as with all hostas, they're great as groundcover. Just make sure you give them a lot of space when you plant them, as their large leaves will take over smaller plants.
