Summer Flowering Bulbs to Plant in Spring
Sword-like foliage. Exotic flowers. Tall wiry stems. That's crocosmia! As the buds open into delicate flowers, you'll see hummingbirds stop by for a tasty treat. Native to Africa, crocosmia are in the iris family but aren't nearly as common. After many other blooms have faded in the garden, they'll give you a new sprinkling of yellow, red and orange to savor. If anyone asks, tell them your crocosmia grew from a corm, not a bulb. Wink, wink.
