Pre-ordered bulbs will ship at the proper planting time for your zone. Spring pre-orders are placed any time before March 1. Fall pre-orders are placed any time before September 1. For customers who order bulbs in advance, please see the shipping schedule below. Pre-orders will not ship immediately, but they will be delivered at the ideal time for planting in your area.

Our Promise

We try our utmost to maintain reliable inventory of all products, and are very proud of our record in doing so. However, as we are a company engaged in what Mother Nature provides, we do sometimes experience shortages, delays, and/or crop failures beyond our control. If, for any reason, we are required to backorder any portion of your order, rest assured we will keep you apprised of updated shipping information and/or any other options that may satisfy your needs and wishes.

Shipping Method

Standard shipping for bulbs is through the U.S. Postal Service. Orders of larger weight and/or volume will be shipped via FedEx. If your shipping address requires a specific method of shipment, please include a note in the CUSTOMER NOTES section at checkout to let us know of your address restrictions and we will adjust accordingly, or contact you for further options. Please note, additional fees may be necessary for some shipping requests. Seasonal bulbs ship according to your USDA growing zone, when it is the optimal time to plant them in your area. Once shipped, items take approximately 3-5 business days in transit.

All orders will receive an order confirmation email as well a shipping notification email once your order leaves our Warehouse. This shipping confirmation will include the items included in the package and a tracking number which will confirm the method of shipment and provide an estimated date of delivery.

Multiple Ship Dates

Your credit card will be charged for the full amount of your order at the time your order is submitted, regardless of the shipping time for your items. If your order requires multiple shipping dates, you will never be charged more than once for shipping charges. This allows us to ship your seasonal items to you as soon as possible (potentially in multiple shipments based on availability), as well as ensure allocation of our seasonal product for your order.

Alaska, Hawaii & Foreign Destinations

We are pleased to announce that all items in our current online catalog can ship to both Alaska and Hawaii at our regularly published shipping prices, and can take advantage of our generous free shipping policy (see rates above). We regret that we’re not able to ship any of our products to any locations outside of the United States. The myriad of governmental regulations pertaining to shipping horticultural products abroad simply do not permit us to process foreign orders at this time. Additionally, we are unable to provide any documentation or phytosanitary certificates that would be required for export/import.

Return Policy

Due to the perishable nature of Bulbs and Perennial Roots, Refunds cannot be provided. If you believe you have received bulbs or roots in poor condition, contact us immediately for assistance, or please reference our Guarantee for further information.

Cancellation Policy

Orders may be cancelled at any time without penalty, prior to fulfillment and processing for shipping in our Warehouse.

Missing/Lost Packages

We share your tracking information with you via email as soon as we create a shipping label for your package, right before it leaves our warehouse. Tracking numbers can take 24 hours to update once packages have been picked up by the carrier. For all questions regarding the whereabouts of a package once it's on the way, we highly recommend you first review the tracking information to check the status provided by the carrier, then contact the appropriate shipping carrier with additional questions (either USPS or FedEx for larger orders). Sometimes, but not often, a tracking number may reflect incorrect information. If after seven (7) business days your package has not arrived and is marked as delivered, a Missing Mail Search Request can be submitted to the Shipping Carrier by the recipient, or, we are happy to work with you directly on a resolution for either 1) a full and immediate product replacement, or 2) a store/site credit for the full amount of the order. No cash refunds can be granted for missing packages. More often than not, packages are either accidentally delivered to a neighboring address, or the item ends up delivered after a slight delay. In the meantime, it is recommended to check with neighbors and/or contact the carrier with your tracking number to see if they can provide any additional information regarding your package.
