When to Plant your Phlox Roots:

Plant your Phlox Roots in the Spring, as soon as the soil is workable and the danger of frost has passed.

Where to Plant your Phlox Roots:

Plant your Phlox Roots in a space with well-draining soil. If it doesn't drain well or has standing water long after a hard rain, you can amend the soil with organic material. Phlox like full sun or dappled shade - if you are in an area with strong sun, consider planting them in the partial shade so they have some protection from the sun.

How to Plant your Phlox Roots:

Phlox Roots should be planted between 2 and 4 inches below the ground with the top of the root ball even with the soil surface. Fill in your soil around the root ball and water well.

How to Care for your Phlox Roots:

Keep an eye on the water levels in your soil and water if your Phlox looks wilted or brown. Phlox flowers look great in cut flower arrangements, so feel free to cut some flowers off! When your plant starts to die back with the Fall weather, you can leave it as is or clip the foliage to about 2 or 3 inches above ground to encourage growth next Spring.

Look up your Hardiness Zone!
